Get to know us
Nottingham Tamil Kuzhumam came together and was established in 2018. All this over a Cup of Kaapi and a casual conversation between two ladies and founding members, Shobana and Akila who felt the absence of a social network among Tamil individuals residing in Nottingham. Recognizing the need for a platform that would bring the Tamil community together, they decided to create a Group now popularly known as "NTK". Since its inception, Nottingham Tamil Kuzhumam has been dedicated to fostering a strong sense of belonging and camaraderie among Tamil people in the area. Through various events, gatherings, and cultural activities, the organization has successfully provided a space for individuals to connect, share experiences, and celebrate their heritage. Whether it is through socializing, networking, or simply finding support, Nottingham Tamil Kuzhumam has become a vital link for the Tamil community in Nottingham.
Nottingham Tamil Kuzhumam operates entirely with a team of dedicated volunteers who selflessly contribute their time and skills. Our volunteers are motivated by the opportunity to support the community, promote Tamil culture, values, languages, history, and traditions.
They do not seek remuneration or praise for their efforts; instead, they express gratitude for being able to make a difference. Since our inception, we have not employed anyone, and we anticipate continuing with our volunteer-based model for the foreseeable future, as it allows us to positively impact the community as a collective force.
